Fat Does Not Come Back After Liposuction
Before & After Liposuction to Hips, Inner & Outer Thighs, Abdomen, & Saddlebags
In the latest issue of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal published by ASPS, researchers have confirmed that fat does NOT return to treated areas or is redistributed to other parts of the body after a liposuction procedure. This research negates another report that was published early last year that claimed that fat returned to treated areas such as the buttocks, thighs, and stomach following liposuction.
The study looked at 301 patients who had undergone liposuction procedures and, using sophisticated digital technology, monitored them before and at least 3 months following their surgery. There was no evidence in any of these cases of fat returning to areas where it was taken out, or moving to other parts of the body. Liposuction permanently removes the fat cells leaving the patient with a desired result. However it is important to remember that liposuction will not affect the patient’s ability to gain or lose weight in the future.
Dr. Hodgkinson is an expert in his field and has performed thousands of liposuction procedures over his long career. He is well versed in the contours of the male and female body and understands that to achieve a beautiful result it is not just the amount of fat that is removed but how the treated areas, such as the buttocks and thighs, are shaped to give you an exceptional overall look.
