Helping communities in need
Our Social Contribution continues – helping distant communities
At The Cosmetic and Restorative Surgery Clinic, we have a long standing of support to the Operation Restore Hope (http://www.operationrestorehope.org/) charity for raising funds and operating on children in the Philippines needing cleft palette revisions .
But recently, we also were able to help out a Zambian community. When we replaced our computer system last year, the PC’s could have been disposed of through the eWaste collections provided by the council. Instead, the machines were reformatted, packaged up and sent through to a small community in Katete, Eastern Province Zambia. With some help from Dr Hodgkinson’s son, ‘JMan’, these computers were set up to be used for training and administration.
More information about this community can be found at http://www.tikondane.org/.
